I have this picture of Jesus coming into Jerusalem during the Triumphal Entry and the people shouting Hosanna, Hosanna!
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
Waving their palm branches and yet Jesus isn’t doing what you and I would be doing.
That’s right, I’m the king, yeah baby, keep it coming, Whoop Whoop Dilly Dilly.
He is weeping.
Why, on this day of real recognition is He weeping?
The people see victory, they can smell it in the air.
The King is coming, the king is coming.
It is our time, it is time to restore Israel!

People were at an all time high for patriotism, churches were full, kindness to one another was the order of the day.

There is anticipation, excitement, sorrow, grief, loss, and patriotism all rolled up.
Jesus stands on this precipice.
He looks over Jerusalem and people come to him.
Last week disciples come to Him, whats in it for me!
May I sit on your left, my brother on your right!
But in the back of it all, a war is about to break out.
People are going to die.
There is going to be a trail of blood.
Defeat, disaster, ruin, chaos, torture, imprisonment and the like.
Jesus is the great commander, Jesus is the great warrior, Jesus is the great ruler, He is also the High Priest, and the Prophet of the people.
They smell blood and victory, and they think the smell is Roman blood, but it isn’t!
They think victory is coming over the greatest army ever assembled and it isn’t.
They can’t wait to see how he does it.
How he tells Pilate, Herod and Caesar who He really is and calls in a league of angels, raises dry bones from these very grounds and makes an army ready for war.
Elijah will come, others will be resurrected from the dead, the best warriors ever, Joshua, Joab, his brother Abishai, and David himself.
Jesus quietly says to them, the blood you smell is my blood, the victory you think is coming isn’t about Romans its about principalities and powers you haven’t ever recognized.
I am going to war today, but my tactics you don’t know and my enemy you don’t really know.
When this ends, I will have sacrificed my body, and spilled my blood in defeat of the enemy of all mankind.
I will have defeated Death!
O Death where is your victory, O Death where is your sting!
Do you feel His heartache?
Do you sense His sorrow?
The people want war!
A human defeat for temporary glory.
Yes the cross is in front of Him, but His friends are behind Him about to throw a party and they don’t get it.
He is about to single handedly take on the entire supernatural world by Himself, and bring salvation to all mankind both the living and the dead!
Verse 38: who has believed our report?
To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
There is a war coming!
A great and mighty war!
Christ is the victor!
He has won the battle.
He has secured our position in heaven should we chose to give up this life and serve Him!
Verse 26!
Today it is your choice.
Serve the victor or the world.
See the war through your own eyes or through the eyes of Christ!

Jesus is Lord of the living and the dead!
Jesus has swallowed up death and has given victory by faith in God the He would raise Him from the dead unto life; the first resurrected soul.
