John 4:1–26 ESV
1 Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John 2 (although Jesus himself did not baptize, but only his disciples), 3 he left Judea and departed again for Galilee. 4 And he had to pass through Samaria. 5 So he came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there; so Jesus, wearied as he was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” 8 (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.” 13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” 17 The woman answered him, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You are right in saying, ‘I have no husband’; 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one you now have is not your husband. What you have said is true.” 19 The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.” 21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.”

ESV

The first thing that I want you to see that this was what was called a divine appointment.

John 4:7

John 4:7 ESV
A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”
John 4:9 ESV
The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
John 4:7
The problem that people had with Jesus is that he didn’t look like what people thought he should look like
John 4
This woman was the most unlikely of people to get saved. First notice that this woman was a Samaritan woman. Ok most of you probably don’t understand the significance of that, but Jesus was a full blooded Jew.

John 4:9

John 4:9 ESV
The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
John 4

John 4:22

John 4:22 ESV
You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.
John
You see the Samaritans were considered half breeds. They were half Jewish and they were half whatever else. Half Samaritan. And there was racial division between the Jews and the Samaritans. Kind of like when there used to be and still is in some parts between white and black.
And know self respecting Jew would ever be caught speaking to a Samaritan woman. But yet Here is Jesus speaking to this woman

THIS WOMAN HAD A STIGMA!

WHAT IS A STIGMA?

stig·ma 1. a mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person.

The problem with Jesus is He claimed to be God, but when they looked at Him they saw somebody that was extremely humble, and kind of homely looking.
YOU KNOW PEOPLE HAVE ALL KINDS OF STIGMAS. And if you never identify a stigma you will always operate out of that stigma.
ˈstiɡmə/ noun 1. a mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person.
I had all kinds of stigmas when I was young.
I started doing drugs at a pretty young age.
a. And for the longest time I had the stigma of a drug addict. I didn’t think very much of myself and as a result I didn’t aim very high in life.
2. I got exposed to pornography at a young age and that added a stigma to my life. For a long time I allowed the devil to disgracewith that.
a. Kids that get sexually abused will have a stigma, they will not be able to see themselves as the precious child that they are, but will
3. I had a stigma because I was poor. I didn’t have the nice things that other kids had and that made me feel like I was less than I was.
4. Here was something else that kind of branded me, when I turned about 13 years old I had pimples real bad
5. Bullies or getting teased

How have your stigmas affected you?

How have your stigmas affected you?
What had ever had happened to this woman we know of 3 stigmas that she had
John 4:9 ESV
The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
John 4
She was a woman, she was a Samaritan, and she had been divorced many times

How might have you viewed God wrongly?

How has your pain, your hangups or your sin caused you to view God wrongly?

But Jesus Remeber is God, represents the fullness of God. If you want to know what God is like you need to look no further than Jesus. Thre Bible says in Him all the fullness of deity dwells. It says that he is the image of the invisible God.
So God in human flesh is about to break all barriers, He is about to expose all stigmas and let her know that she has been chasing the wrong things.
DID YOU GUYS KNOW THAT IF YOU DON’T WATCH IT YOU WILL CHASE AFTER THE WRONG THINGS IN LIFE? YOU WILL BE SEEKING AFTER THE WORLD TO FILL THOSE HIDDEN HUNGERS OF LIFE AND IT CANNOT.
jOHN 4:10-
John 4:10–11 ESV
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water?
iF YOU ONLY KNEW THE GIFT OF gOD, AND WHO IT WAS SPEAKING TO YOU........
dO YOU GUYS KNOW THE GIFT OF GOD. Have you ever tasted this living water? When you taste of this living water, when your heart is full with the love of god, when the holy Spirit comes inside of you and makes you alive there is nothing else in the world that you will desire to have.
John 4:13–14 ESV
Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
John 4:13
JOHN 4:13-14
THE GOD Shaped vacuum. There is an emptiness and there is a hunger inside of every person and the things of the world can only temporarily fill that emptiness inside of you.
You know video games, nothing wrong with video games, but video games can fill that HOLE FOR A WHILE UNTIL IT DOESN’T. sOCIAL MEDIA WILL FILL THAT HOLE FOR A WHILE UNTIL IT DOESN’T
HOBBIES WILL FILL THAT HOLE FOR A WHILE UNTIL IT DOESN’T
DRUGS WILL FILL THAT HOLE UNTIL IT DOESNT
RELATIONSHIPS WILL FILL THAT HOLE FOR A WHILE UNTIL IT DOESNT
A NEW CAR WILL FILL THAT HOLE FOR A WHILE UNTIL IT DOESN’T
A GOOD MOVIE WILL FILL THAT HOLE FOR A WHILE UNTIL IT DOESNT
tHERES ONLY ONE THING THAT WILL FILL THAT HOLE INSIDE AND THAT IS THE LIVING WATER, AND THAT IS THE GIFT OF GOD. DOES ANY BODY KNOW WHAT THE LIVING WATER IS?
John 7:37–39 ESV
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
