The importance of the Word
to understand that process of Faith and the development of Faith,
We have been teaching for years the elements and principles and applications of Faith.
After further study I am perceptive to the persuasion that we are overcomplicating this principal.
We find the Word faith in 332 verses in the Bible, but we find the usage of faith from Genesis to Revelation.
We found out last week that you can not proclaim Faith if you don’t posess Gods Word as the “Substance“ of your Faith.
For Hebrews says:
Faith
zto make
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Allow me to give you a cheat sheet on the proper way to attain or increase your faith.
our Text says that Faith comes from what is heard.
If you replace the Word Faith with the phrase “what you heard” it will make the process so much easier to understand.
Now “what you have heard”is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen
For unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed faith “what they heard” in them that heard it.
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them through faith “what they heard” and patience inherit the promise.
Now the just shall live by faith “what he heard”but if any man draw back my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
But without Faith, “what you heard” it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
So we understand that the foundation of Faith is based on what you have heard.
We have got to get to the place that the Word of God is the main course and not dessert.
Thats why you have to make sure that you are submitted to a ministry that values the Word of God; because if my increase and my next level is based on the Word I get, then I don’t have time for someone that wants to get dressed up walk in the pulpit and give me everything but the Gospel.
I’m going through to much hell to be listening to the Gospel of you!
I don’t need a grilled cheese sandwich, I need meat… Grilled cheese won’t hold me up in the time of a storm.
We really owe the people of God an apology because we will manipulate you by music, hypnotize you by dance, and engage you with Social programs to involve you, but NEVER give you any substance that will grow your faith and by in large CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
In other words; the reason you aint seen nothing is because you aint heard nothing.
You may never miss a Sunday, but the promotion does not but when you are here; Promotion comes by what you hear!
FAITH COME BY HEARING, AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD
Sometimes you have to learn to block some stuff out of your line of sight so that you can make sure that you hear your Word.
you might have to tell sister girl; hey we can’t sit together because our situation is not getting any better.
And the reason its not getting better because instead of listening to God I am listening to you.
aint got nothing because i aint heard nothing
The Influence of the Word
The Influence
Not only is it important that we get the Word, but you must also know that there is an assignment in your life from God on who you get the Word from.
This is validated in
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?
and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent?
as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
So there is a voice that God has placed in your life to cause you to hear.
Be careful of the people who may think that preaching is overrated.
We believe in the presence of God at Breath of Life.
But their are 2 different assignments.
The presence of God builds relationship.
The Word of God builds Faith. And you can be in the presence of God and have relationship, and not possess faith.
Ask Thomas the disciple of Christ can you
