This is the day
Each day we are faced with a choice.
How are we going to react to the circumstances that come our way.
Our choices are expecting the worst or accepting what comes our way knowing God is there in all of it.
psalm 118:24
was written for or by King David.
After God delivered him and his army from his enemies.
This psalm was sung by the Israelites on their journey to jerusalem for the passover feast.
Jesus sang it on his way to Calvary.
This is the day
5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness.
And God saw that it was good.
I want to go over the word day .
First and foremost it is the opposite of night.
a classical biblical theme ( light and darkness)
This doesn't say this is yesterday or this is tomorrow.
today is the day .the
author is saying this is the day.
God gave them the victory over their enemies
That the Lord Has made
16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars.
46 So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine
Made is a past tense word of make.
so the text doesn't say God will make.
HE made the day.
So there is a plan afoot .
All through the bible God had a plan in place for mankind.
Rejoice!!!!!
16 Rejoice always
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice
23 Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy
Be glad in it
31  Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice,
and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
