Covenant of the Land
This the second thing that God had promised Abraham when He called him out of Ur of Chaldean to the land of Caanan.
While land is not one of the focuses of the Sinaitic Covenant it remains one of the goals promised to the seed of Abraham.
God is fulfilling His previous covenants He has made.
This covenant is the extension of the that part of the covenant about possessing the land.
God is to rule over His people.
God will use humanity to administer His rule.

He will point to God as the one who ultimately rules over all the land and the people.

The Law of Moses
The Law of Moses
God is to be the head of the people and they are to serve Him.
God would put put people in charge to lead His people.
This is called a Theocracy.
Websters defines Theocracy as: a form of government in which God or a deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler, the God's or deity's laws being interpreted by the ecclesiastical authorities.
Moses is commissioned by God to lead God’s people.
And as we know Moses leads them out of Egypt into the wilderness.
Moses lead them into the land of Midian - and then camped in the wilderness of the Sinai.
Moses led then through the wilderness to the edge of the Promised Land.
God calls Moses up to the mountain and God provides him with the Ten Commandments.
These are the Laws that were given to the people to direct them them in how to be obedient to God and continue to enjoy God’s blessings and in there lives and as a kingdom of priests.
Moses is commissioned by God to lead God’s people.
And as we know Moses leads them out of Egypt into the wilderness.

The Laws were given to regulate their lives and rituals.
The Law also reveals their sin just as much as it did their holiness.

The Law given my God is ultimately to be a tutor and a teaching that will eventually lead us to our need for a Savior - Jesus.

A theocracy means ruled by God, administered by humanity.
