HOW IS YOUR DECISION MAKING?

FACT: The decisions we make today determine the stories we tell tomorrow

FACT: It’s the small things no one sees that leads to the big things everyone wants

HOW TO BE A GREAT DECISION MAKER

1) Avoid Either/Or

PROBLEM: Giving Ultimatums

SOLUTION: Add more options

2) Avoid Fatigue

PROBLEM: Making too many decisions

SOLUTION: Delegate often

3) Avoid Ignorance

PROBLEM: Too inwardly focused

SOLUTION: Think like an outsider

4) Avoid Procrastination

PROBLEM: Putting off decisions

SOLUTION: To-Do List and To-Decide List

5) Avoid Coincidence

PROBLEM: Ignoring small moments

SOLUTION: Respond to the little things

APPLICATION

FORBIDDEN PHRASES: Won’t, Don’t, Can’t

You can make an excuse or you can make a decision, but you can’t make both

FOREVER PHRASE: Will, Do, Can

Great leaders live with a great sense of urgency

If you don’t want to develop leaders, then make all the decisions

Push decision-making deep into the organization
