Mission of the Church: Clarification

How was Paul’s message and the Christian faith allowed to spread around the Roman Empire even though the Jews wanted Paul dead and Christianity destroyed?

Paul’s life as outlined in the Book of Acts can be summed up in this way: (1) He persecuted and killed Christians.
(2) He met Christ and his life was changed.
(3) He suffered greatly under the persecution of Jewish leaders—but with supreme patience.
(4) His preaching was simple and powerful.
(5) He obtained great power with God and man.
(6) Paul was persistent; he never gave up the work of the Lord.
How is Paul able to escape death so many times?
Holy Spirit was with him but it was more than that.

Paul was born in Tarsus which made him a Roman Citizen even though he was also a Jew.
