Ac 4:12

"There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."NLT Peter's argument reached a climax. The resurrected Jesus had healed the crippled man physically. That same Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, can heal all people spiritually. Peter did not compromise or soft-pedal his answer. Salvation does not come from being a descendant of Abraham

Luke 3:8

8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. NIV

Neither does salvation come by following the Law of Moses

John 6:32-33

32 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.

33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

NIV

The clear gospel teaching is that there is salvation in no one else but Jesus.

John 14:6

6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. NIV

If Jesus said that He is the way and He is truth, and He is life would it not make good common since to call upon his name, being that there is no other way to the Father but by Jesus. The only reason that I can see that one would not call upon the name of Jesus is that he or she has not sat down and meditated for any span of time. They have not for a moment stopped to think that one day sooner or later I am going to have to leave this old world and where will I spend the rest of eternity.

It is utterly foolish to go day in and day out without thinking about what is pass right now. We ought not to live each day as if we are going to live forever. The bible tells us in Heb 9:27-28 that;

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,

so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

NIV

1 Timothy 2:5

5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

What this verse here in 1 Timothy 2:5  is saying to us is that there is only one mediator between man and God and that is Jesus. There is no other name to call where by man can be saved.

Ac 4:12

"There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.

How, then, are people saved? By calling on the name of Jesus. It can't get much simpler than that.

No matter where you have been or how many places you may have gone in your life. No  amount of money, no circle of friends, no fancy cars or large homes, no melody that you may be able to sing, no preaching that you maybe able to preach will be able to delivery you.

Only the name of Jesus

Ac 4:12

Many people react negatively to the claim that salvation is found in Christ alone ("There is salvation in no one else!"). "How narrow-minded, exclusive, and arrogant!" is the common charge leveled against Christianity. But two facts are worth remembering: First, this is not something the church arbitrarily decided; it is the specific teaching of Jesus himself (Jn 14:6). Second, rather than reacting to the phrase, "in no one else," people would be better served to focus on the wonderful promise, "There is salvation."

But We Must Call On the Name of Jesus

That is the good news of the gospel! God has provided a way for sinners to be forgiven and granted entrance into eternal life! To be sure, it is a narrow way (Lk 13:24), but it is a way nonetheless. If your cruise ship is sinking, it is foolish to remain on deck criticizing the emergency evacuation plan. The wiser course of action is to take a seat in the nearest lifeboat!

John 14:6

6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. NIV

You see some folks have said this way with Jesus is too narrow. Yes I will agree that this path way to glory is a wide way that you are able to do any and everything that you want to do and stay upon it. But in reality it is wide enough for the hold world to walk up on it, only if they walk the way that God has ask them to walk. Instead of worrying about how narrow or how limited it sounds to have only one way, we should be “Thanking God”, for providing a way to get to Him.

We Must Call On the Name of Jesus

Isa 35:8-10

And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it.

9 No lion will be there, nor will any ferocious beast get up on it;

they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there,

10 and the ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing;

everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. NIV

Jn 14:5-6

Jesus provides for us as much as we need to know and can know about God. "No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known" (1:18 NRSV).

§          He is the WAY: Jn 1:18; 8:36; 10:9; Col 1:15. Jesus is both God and man, knowing intimately our experience and our needs. He is our path, bridge, transport -- not just an example or road sign. He is our guide with dependable directions and powerful protection. Our personal relationship with Christ links us to God. Our response should be to follow his guidance, trusting his ability to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves.

§          He is the TRUTH: Jn 1:14,17; 5:19; 8:29. Jesus is our source of intimate knowledge of the Father. His answers, teaching, and commands were right. No shadow of dishonesty, falsehood, or lying was in his life. He is the reality of all God promised. Our response should be to believe in him and put into practice what he taught.

§          He is the LIFE: Jn 1:4; 3:15; 5:26; 10:10; 11:25. Jesus gives us life both now and eternally. His life provides the surest model for our own. He promises to join his life to ours. There is no other source of life beside him. Our response should be to receive that life and allow it to work itself out in our daily experience.

We Must Call On the Name of Jesus

Just a few as I stood at the bed side of Sis. Frankie. She just kept moving from side to side. As I held her hand she did not call on the name of Stewart Memorial which she has been a member here for as long as I can remember. And I have been a member here for twenty years.

She did not call on the senior choir nor any of the choir members, but when I came here she was singing in the choir.

She did not call on any of the boards or circles here at Stewart, nor did she call on any of the presidents of these boards.

She did not call the name of the pastor, pass past nor present pastor.

No, no she did not even call on the names of her daughters, nor son, nor any of the grand children whom she has known all of their life. No she didn’t any of them.

 But she keep calling on the “The Name Of Jesus”. The expression on her face was not none of agony or despair, nor was it one of sadness or sorrow. But she kept right on calling on Jesus.

There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them, but the name of Jesus.
