Sermon Tone Analysis

The word fool refers to a person who acs unintelegently and irrespnsibly.

However Scripture defines the fool who says in his heart there is no God.

and morally corrupt doing adominable deeds The fool is an idividual who lives apart from God. either as a theological or practicl aithiest or both.

The fool denys God by his actions and his words, the supreeme fool is a person who has anti-God thinking and living patterns The ultemate destiny of fools is that they are always learning and never able to come to the knowlenge of the truth .

In scripture wisdom is centerd around conviction and behavior more specificly in reconizing and obeying God.

Upon the salvation of and individual he moves from foolishness to wisdom.

Being a christian leads one to Walk worthy humbly in unity Seperated from the ways of the world in Love in light and in wisdom

in the passage today, Paul mentions three things that the Lord’s wisdom teaches His child.

The wise beliver knows his life principals, his limited privilages, and the puropse of The Lord.

Paul calls the believers to carefully walk baced on what he has been teaching.

he calls the belivers to walk by as believers in Christ.

Christians are to walk wisely, not unwisely because they are God’s Children.

who have been saved because of the sacrifice of Christ.

He calls belivers to walk as wise men, they are to live like the people they are. in Christ.

Weather it is buisiness , personal, or spiritual realm no one can turn a dream into reality or fully take advantage of of oppertunitiea without making the most of His time.

God has set boundaries to our lives, and our opportunity for srevive exists only within those boundaries.

It is significant that the bible speeks of times being shortened but never being lengthened.

God has soverignly bounded our lives with eternity =, God knows both the beginning and end of our time on earth =.

As believers we can acheve our potential only in His service only as we maximize the time He has givin us.

There are many places in Scripture that show us that those who think they will always have time to do what they should

When Noah and His family enterd the Arc and God shut the door, the oppertunity for anyone else to be saved from the flood was gone

We are to make the most of our oppertunities on this earth not only, because days are short, but they are also evil, the world seeks to oppose us and seeks to hinder the works of the Lord

When Paul wrote here the days are evil, he may have been of how corrupt Ephisis was.

The Christians in Ephisis were suronded by pagenisim and influenced by hericy.

Grred, imorality, and dishonesty were a way of life in Ephisis.

This was a way of life that the believers at Ephisis had once been involved in, and were tempted to revert to thus why paul needed to admonish them in this way.

When we walk in obedience we walk carefully making the most of our time.

we take full advantage of every oppertunity to serve God and to bring him glory.

None of us trully knows how long we have to serve God each of us have a clock that will one day tick its last and when that happends our oppertunity for service will end.

Pul repeats himself from his previous instruction to not be unwise he tells the belivers to not be foolish.

and reinforces this centeral truth.

By the statement understand the will of the lord He expands the instruction to not be foolish, and makes it even more clear to walk in Wisdom.

As we observe our wold and how evil and busy it is it is easy to get overwellmed about responsibilities ext.

however the wise beliver will seek to understand the will of the lord because he knows that only through the Lord’s will and power can anything good and lasting be accomplished.

Gods Basic will is found in scripture, Where one can find his perfect guidelines for knowing and doing what is pleasing to Him. however this will is the guiding of specific believers.

God’s plans and directions for each beliver are not found in scripture, hoever, general principals for understanding them are.

God does not show us his will through visions, dreams, neither does he play a divine guessing game with us hoping we will just stuble into his will.

God’s desire is that we know and understand his will and gives us every help to accomplish that.

The unwise beliver tries to function apart from God’s will and focuses on what they want and do.

The idea here is not to get drunk, because the alcoholl has control of you and as a beliver we must let the holy spirit contol you!

being drunk with wine is not only a hinderence of being filled with the spirit, but also a counterfit to it.

There are many differnt views within the church about drinking, but one thing is clear that scripture always condms being drunk.

a person is drunk when the alchol interups normal functions of the body or mind.

Bing filled is NOT:

A dramatic experiene that is suddenly energized

socialy trying to do what God wants

not the same as possessing or being indwelt.

not the baptisim of the spirit

being sealed or secured by him

Being filled IS

being controlled by the holy Spirit

It is not possible to live a life in Gods will without being filled with the spirit

The spirit filled life produces music.

The primary audience for singing is other believrs.

Throughout all of scripture singing of God’s people is shown to be within the fellowship of God’s people not once in the Bible is music used to be evengelistic, but points to worship th Him.

We are comanded to be always thankful.

The idea here is to reconize Gods control in every aspect of our lives.

God seeks to make us into the image of His son, for us not to be tankful is is to disregard his control, Lordship, and filling.

it is not nessesary- some are not thankful because they think they have earned or deserve everything they have.
