Matthew 6:9:
Matthew 6:9–15 NASB95
“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. ‘Give us this day our daily bread. ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’ “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. “But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.

A Model of prayer

Model Prayer- Jesus would have never prayed this, because he had son debts to be forgiven.
It is a mode of how we should pray.
I wanted to find a prayer in the bible that was modelled along these lines.
222 Prayers in the Bible
Longest in Nehemiah over 1200 Words - Isreal confession of sins
Shortest is Jesus - 2 Words - Healing a deaf person
The prayer is broken up into two parts.
Glorifying God and our requests.

Matthew 6:11 NASB95
‘Give us this day our daily bread.
Matthew
Martin Luther recognized this verse is about our daily needs in general.
Daily
If God provided grace, mercy, and forgiveness on a yearly basis, how often would you pray?
Don’t let pride get in your way.
We are blinded by our comfort and ease of a access to food.
Matth
Matthew 6:12 NASB95
‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
as we also have forgiven
Matthew 6:14–15 NASB95

Matthew 6:13 NASB95
‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’
James 1:3
James 1:13 NASB95
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
