Mistakes We Make About Sharing Jesus

1. I am not a Professional, I Don’t Know What to Say!
John 1:45–46 NASB95
Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law,—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law,—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
46 “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked.
“Come and see,” said Philip.

Mistakes We Make About Sharing Jesus
• I am not a Profession, I Don’t Know What to Say!
• I might say the wrong thing!
John 4:39 NASB95
From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.”
• Many of the Samaritans from that village committed themselves to him because of the woman’s witness: “He knew all about the things I did. He knows me inside and out!”
The Woman’s Approach
• Did not preach to her neighbors
The Woman’s Approach

Telling Your Story Works

John 4:39 NASB95
From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.”
Many of the Samaritans from that village committed themselves to him because of the woman’s witness: “He knew all about the things I did. He knows me inside and out!”
The Woman’s Approach
• Did not preach to her neighbors
• She Just Told Her Story
• She let them decide for themselves.
Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”
• They asked him to stay on, so Jesus stayed two days. A lot more people entrusted their lives to him when they heard what he had to say.
• They said to the woman, “We’re no longer taking this on your say-so. We’ve heard it for ourselves and know it for sure. He’s the Savior of the world!”
• Sharing About Jesus is Easy
Don’t argue.
Don’t just quote the Bible.
Don’t preach.
Do tell Your Story.
Do let them decide for themselves
Do invite them to, “Come and see.”
• Just do what you learn to do as a child just share.
