I. Human Nature
A. Our greatest struggles are with our own human nature

Changes around us - Nothing we can do about it

B. There is comfort—the war is over—
23Ngunit may ibang kapangyarihan sa mga bahagi ng aking katawan na salungat sa tuntunin ng aking isip; ipinapaalipin ako ng kapangyarihang ito sa kasalanang nananatili sa aking katawan. 24Anong saklap ng aking kalagayan! Sino kaya ang magliligtas sa akin sa kalagayang ito na nagpapahamak sa akin? 25Wala nang iba pa kundi ang Diyos sa pamamagitan ni Jesu-Cristo na ating Panginoon! Salamat sa kanya!
II. God’s Character
A. can be a comfort or a threat
B. Four aspects of character that never change
1. Sovereignty—“I am the Lord”
a. As Lord, He has the final say
2. Justice—Deut. 32:4
a. God cannot be unfair; He is just
3. Love—1 John 4:8
a. Exercising love has some limitations
b. “God is love” and has no limitations
4. Mercy—Ps. 136 (all 26 verses end the same)
a. God’s love follows from cradle to grave and beyond

III. God’s Word
A. It shall stand forever—
B. The unchanging Word is a source of strength and comfort
1. “I will give you rest”—
28“Lumapit kayo sa akin, kayong lahat na nahihirapan at nabibigatang lubha sa inyong pasanin, at kayo'y bibigyan ko ng kapahingahan.
