Thy Will Be Done
What is God’s will for my life?
to become and remain his child through faith in Jesus.
God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
one of the most blessed things about God’s will is that we are included in it!
God wants me!
God’s will is done when I live as his adopted child according to His Word and to bear witness to Christ.
I can’t live according to His word if I don’t readily study it.
God wants my life to be a witness of my place in his family therefore I need to read and hear His Word continually that I may pattern my life after its directives.
God’s will is also done when I witness to the value and love of his Son in my life.
God’s will is done when I resist the devil and all his ways.
I know that I will need help with temptation.
My old adam seeks to cling to the evil and worldly things .
I can make many good excuses why I should be allowed this sin or that.
Only through the Holy Spirit’s power am I able to overcome my sinful nature and abide in God’s holy will.
And only by the guiding of His Word will I be able to make decisions in line with His will.
But how can I make decisions as a Christian in everyday matters?
God gives me freedom in every day matters to make my own decisions.
What to eat, where to go to school, what kind of car to buy.
In making those decisions concerning following the will of God I can consider the many gifts he has provided me.
My abilities and interests, the needs of others around me.
Finally I pray.
for his blessings on my decisions,
I know that I am sinner and will sin no matter how good my intentions are which is why I can have peace having made a decision because Jesus forgave all my sins.
May thy will be done among us also so that we are able to show we are members of the household of God.
God grant it for Jesus sake.
Amen.
