2Ch 31:20–32:23. Jordan Gommer. Hezekiah, king of Judah, was a faithful servant of the Lord, doing what was right before God and encouraging his people to do likewise. Even when faced with the mighty army of Assyria, led by the blasphemous Sennacherib accusing him of unfaithfulness, he implores the people of Judah to have faith in the Lord, who is greater than any earthly power. In doing so, he points us to Jesus, our king, who likewise calls us to live out faithful lives before God, in the face of attack from Satan, our accuser and the prince of this world. Through faith in him, we have nothing to fear, for Jesus has already won our biggest battle over our greatest enemy.
