Why would God, if He is good, allow evil and suffering? Let's go one step further. Why would God allow His perfect Son to suffer and die at the hands of evil people? He didn't have to do that. The Lamb of God, who was slain, broke the fifth of the seven-sealed scroll. This seal revealed the martyrs down through the ages. They are under the altar crying out for vengeance. But why does martyrdom exist in the first place? Would it surprise you that the answer lies, not in the book of Revelation, or even in the words of Jesus, the Lamb of God, but in the ancient book of wisdom, the book of Proverbs? Join the Grace United crew as we try to plumb the depths of the mystery of the martyrs and the fifth seal.
