What’s wrong?

Troy
DunkinDonuts, remembering Troy, and meeting his weeping brother
We all have broken stories
Florida shooting
Gun control
What’s wrong with this world?
Can the proper view of what’s wrong help us avoid future tragedies from happening to us?

Body

This is the world:

12 What are worthless and wicked people like?

They are constant liars,

13 signaling their deceit with a wink of the eye,

a nudge of the foot, or the wiggle of fingers.

14 Their perverted hearts plot evil,

and they constantly stir up trouble.

15 But they will be destroyed suddenly,

broken in an instant beyond all hope of healing.

16 There are six things the LORD hates—

no, seven things he detests:

17 haughty eyes,

a lying tongue,

hands that kill the innocent,

18 a heart that plots evil,

feet that race to do wrong,

19 a false witness who pours out lies,

a person who sows discord in a family.

Which of us can say that none of this describes you? Which can say you are blameless?
If none of us are innocent, all have contributed to the problem.
Nikolas Cruz
Evil
Bullied, with out friends, and acted in an evil way to the way he was wronged
Which of us can say that this doesn’t describe you? Which can say you are blameless?
If none of us are innocent, all have contributed to the problem.
We may not have murdered anyone, but bullied, slandered, passive
We give reasons for people to hate other people, thus hating God
71 years ago, Joseph Harmatz
In the face of evil, how will you respond?

Questions

What are the problems in the world? And what are some of the world’s solutions to it?
What are some typical responses in the world when someone is wronged by someone else? How do you typically respond when someone wrongs you?
What does the world say the problem’s root is? Why do you think the world doesn’t admit it’s because of sin in all people?
How do you comfort someone that’s going through a hard time? ( explains how God comforts us and how we can also comfort others)
What are some ways that God turns horrible things into good things? Any examples? (e.g. Story of Joseph, and his explanation in Genesis 50:20)
What does the world say the problem’s root is? Why do you think the world doesn’t say it’s because of sin in all people?
(Optional Debate, Controversial) What do you think about the gun debate? In what ways do you think limiting guns will help the problem? In what ways is the world not seeing the root of the problem?

Closing

Doorman

of woman storming out because my view of sin.
Gospel is Offensive because we are the problem and HE is the solution
Solution only when we know the truth about ourselves
Tragedy is going to happen
Evil people still live here, including you and me
Always someone more evil
