Jesus offers me Internal & Eternal Peace

John 16:33 ESV
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
You MAY have Peace
What is Peace
What gets in the way of having Peace
You WILL have trouble
He Has Overcome the World
John 14:27 ESV
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
I. The World’s Solution for Trouble and Tribulation
a. Placate – you should be fearful – it is natural for you to worry (You have every right to…)
b. Incriminate – you should be stronger (If I was you, I – isn’t it amazing how much stronger people are when they talk about how they would handle someone else’s problem?)
c. Insulate – let me keep you from worry and trouble (Like a mother bird – the reality is no matter how good our intentions we can’t keep the people we love away from situations that will produce fear or worry… people need to be equipped not insulated) Let me take care of this for you…
d. Medicate – drugs, alcohol, counseling (what you need is a tall, stiff drink…) Take some of this
e. How Does Jesus Deal with the problem – The problem is that you are trusting in you rather than God
II. God’s Solution
a. Entrusting it to God ()
b. Trusting God is in Control ()
c. Trusting God will Guide You ()
