What To Expect From God

Text
Genesis 1:1–3 KJV 1900
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Genesis 1:1
Genesis 1:6–7 KJV 1900
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Genesis 1:9 KJV 1900
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Genesus
Genesis 1:11 KJV 1900
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
Genesis 1:14–15 KJV 1900
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
Genesis 1:24 KJV 1900
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
Genesis 1:24
Introduction
We serve a God who only does BIG things!
I can’t help but notice in the scriptures of our Bible that any time God comes into the picture, you’re going to see Him do something BIG!
And I also want you to understand that the very nature of our God is goodness!
Genesis 1:3–4 KJV 1900
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
Genesis 1:
It wasn’t that He looked on this light that He had just created and said, “In my opinion, I did a pretty good job on that there light.”
No! He created the light, and when He was finished with it, He “saw the light, that IT WAS good.”
It wasn’t opinion. It wasn’t His own review of the creation. IT WAS SIMPLY A FACT, and it still is today: WHATEVER GOD DOES - IF GOD DOES ANYTHING - IT IS GOOD!
You need to be rejoicing today, because you have found yourself in this exact same God’s sanctuary today, and because of that, something GOOD is getting ready to happen TO YOU!
Can I tell you something right now? If we would get the right picture of God in our mind, and we would truly understand His good and powerful nature to do BIG things, there won’t be another boring day in our lives! There won’t be another dry church service!
Our praise and our adoration will come so easily because we understand the possibilities that are before us!
Body
In the very beginning of the existence of creation, the Bible says that there was darkness and chaos.
There was no order - there was, as the Word so uniquely says, “darkness upon the face of the deep.”
And the Bible so profoundly yet simply declares that God still moved and spoke in the midst of that darkness.
I’m not so much interested or concerned with today where the word is going.
All I need to know is where the word has come from!
Because if it has come from the very heart and mind of almighty God, the creator of everything we have seen, and even all that we have not seen, then it does not matter the chaos, it does not matter the confusion, it does not matter the darkness, it does not matter the void or the emptiness!
For when God begins to move on the scene, and when God begins to speak,
Order comes where there was chaos!
Color comes where there was darkness!
And fulfillment comes where there was emptiness!
So it does not matter where the word of the Lord is going - it only matters where it has come from!
Because when it has come from God, it has the ability to change ANY TYPE OF ATMOSPHERE!
Hebrews 11:3 KJV 1900
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Hebrews 11:3 KJV 1900
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Psalm 33:6 KJV 1900
By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Psalm 33:6–9 KJV 1900
By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: He layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord: Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.
Psalms 33:6-9
Something we have to understand today is the power of our God!
He is the CEO of everything in heaven, in earth, and below!
And He only simply has to speak … and it’s done!
He does not need to repeat it … He just needs to say it once!
He does not need to lift His voice … He just needs to say it!
And for God to speak is for God to do.
And we find something that Hell is afraid of now, and even back in the very beginning of the inaugural moments of scripture and creation:
Everything that God says, He sees.
And there is nothing that God SAID, that He did not SEE!
I don’t know what that does for you today, but when I begin to think back over everything that God has spoken over my life, and I begin to recall to my mind, and bring forth hope, as the prophet said, I begin to realize: God said this, and God said that, and God spoke this, and God spoke that...
And everything that God SPEAKS and everything that God SAYS… He sees.
For God to speak is for God to do.
So I want to ask you today:
What is it that God has spoken over your family?
Over your health?
Over your mind?
And you might be saying today, “I don’t believe that I’ve ever heard God speak to me. I’m not for sure that I’ve ever heard the voice of heaven. I don’t know that there’s a word for me.”
Can I tell you today that every time you open this book, from Genesis to Revelation, every chapter and every verse, is God speaking directly TO YOU!
So in case you didn’t realize, He has spoken peace over your mind! He has spoken healing over your body! He has spoken hope over your soul!
He has spoken things over you! Plans over you! Dreams over you! And destinies over you!
Psalm 62:11 KJV 1900
God hath spoken once; Twice have I heard this; That power belongeth unto God.
I believe that there are some of us here today, who perhaps you have come into the house of God searching for a new word for your life.
You need direction from God and you are awaiting another divine statement from the glory world.
And this is not meant as a rebuke today, but is meant as a reminder of the power of God’s spoken Word:
You do not need to hear a new word - you need only to hear the original word again! And again!
The Psalmist David said He spoke once, but I heard it twice! All God needs to do is to say something one time - either through the man of God, or the Word of God - and you’ve just got to make up in your mind to hear the prophecy again! To hear the word again! Over and over in your mind! Over and over in your ears!
Because God didn’t have to repeat Himself.
He didn’t say, “Let there be light... I said, let there be light!” He didn’t have to get angry.
You see, your kids don’t have to eat the cereal if they don’t want to. They don’t have to get out of bed the first time you tell them if they don’t want to...
But God is the CEO… and the creator in chief of all things in heaven and in earth and below! And all He has to do is speak!
And the Bible tells us today that the demons believe and tremble!
And it ought to be today that you and I can believe and triumph when we understand everything that He has said - WE CAN SEE!
He has said it, and I haven’t seen it yet… but there’s going to come a moment - maybe right here right now in this moment - when what He has said WILL COME TO PASS!
But if you’re interested today in being touched by God (and I certainly hope you are), and you’re wondering what to expect from Him, I’ve got some information for you today that ought to make you rejoice:
He’s only got to speak to you or touch you ONCE - if it’s just by the hem of His garment… And it is so...
And it WILL be GOOD!
I believe just one touch today would raise you up in your faith, brother! I believe one touch or just one claiming of his word might heal you, sister!
The Power of Expectation
Can I tell you today that there is simply something in the atmosphere in this church.
I don’t know entirely how to explain it, but there is something that is beginning to take place that is different.
Maybe you have sensed it or felt it… maybe not.
But I can most assuredly tell you that something is changing in the atmosphere.
And faith is beginning to rise high and God is beginning work and move in very unique ways.
This is not “church as usual”.
There is an anticipation that has started here.
Camp Meetings and Conferences
These meetings many times have extremely powerful moves of God like what we’ve been seeing.
There are reasons for this.
Number one: prayer.
Number two: there’s an expectancy.
And it’s not the location that has made these events special - it’s the prayer and the expectancy.
Just because we’re not in Redfield doesn’t mean there won’t be such a wonderful demonstration of the spirit!
I believe today that we have to let this expectancy spread like wildfire and just see what God might do!!!
And I am starting to walk into services and start my day every day with the mindset that there is absolutely no telling what God might do next!
I said there is no telling just what God might do next!
And you can label me a radical! You can say that I’m overboard!
But I’m not crazy today! I just love Him! And I know that when He says it, it is so, and it is good!
As you stand today, turn to somebody and tell them, “I’m not crazy!” Now tell them, “I just love Him!”
Conclusion
I wonder if there is anybody who just has an expectation today: “I’m about to get blessed!”
I wonder if there is somebody who would say, “I’m about to get refreshed!”
Why should you believe anything else today? It’s the nature of our God to do something great!
says to “Call those things which be not as though they were.” In other words, speak it like it’s already done!
In , Jesus said, “If you say to this mountain, ‘Be thou removed and cast into the sea,’ and you don’t doubt in your heart, YOU SHALL HAVE WHAT YOU SAY.”
And says that “Faith is the evidence of what’s not seen!”
Today, I don’t know what it is that you are praying. I’m not sure what all it is that you are needing an answer to from God.
But I do know this: It doesn’t matter where the word is going to, or what chaos it is - it only matters WHO that word has come from! And because of that, it is so!
I wonder if there’s anybody who would love to see a miracle right now?!
Well what we’re going to do is exactly what the scripture has said, we’re going to call those things that are not as though they were!
I don’t SEE IT - but right now I’m going to SAY IT! Come on, let your faith run wild right now! Claim things in Jesus name!
