Introduction
The discussion is that of the collection of There is some background information that needs to be understood about this collection This is the giving taken up from the Gentiles to give to the Jews It was because of the famine talked about in There is much information about giving in the Bible, we need to learn and not be offended about this teaching.
The discussion must begin with the giving of ourselves to the Lord Are we willing to pay the price and have we counted the cost of giving ourselves to the Lord?
II Discussion
Are we willing to pay the price?
The whole world?
Family and lands Kin over the Lord The kingdom and righteousness first Are we willing to give up the pleasures of sin which are but for a season ; We must give it all up Have we counted the cost to be His disciple?
What is the cost of repentance? ; What is the cost of baptism What is the cost of work What is the cost of the walk , , , , What is the cost of worship ; What is the cost of our study What is the cost of the cross ; We must teach that there is a cost for following Jesus Two illustrations the Lord gives of counting the cost One is that of building a tower Waste of time, money and effort Being ridiculed The other is of going to war How many, and is there enough to defeat the enemy If defeated then what are the consequences, no compromises There will be persecutions There will be discouragements There will be slander ; The cost will be worth it all
III Conclusion
Are you willing to pay the price of discipleship Heaven will be worth it all We will be able to withstand
