19 "Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, bearing this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness.
20 "Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also those of wood and clay; some for honorable use and some for dishonorable.
21 "So if anyone purifies himself from anything dishonorable, he will be a special instrument, set apart, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.”
()
I love that phrase: “set apart, useful to the Master”
This is what I want to be O Lord! Please be our potter.
Make of us what You can and by whatever process You choose, only let us be what You can use!
Jesus asks, “38 ".... Are you able to drink the cup I drink or to be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?”” ()
By His grace we’ll be able.
May He break us off the edge of His potters wheel and pass through the hottest fires of His kiln, only let us be those whom You choose and use!
May we be constantly in His hand; dipped down often into those cleansing waters.
41 "Stay awake and pray, so that you won’t enter into temptation.
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.””
()
Yes we know that right!
And the Lord knows it!
He knows it!
The Lord knows that you desire to die to the weakness of the flesh, its tears and faintness, so that we might live in the Spirit!
Is His grace not sufficient?
Isn’t His strength made perfect in our weakness?
May God perfect those things concerning us, His church!
Just make us a vessel to be used!
Jesus said "… whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,” ()
Oh Lord, I understand that you have to examine our hearts and sift through them and may He rid us of all that is proud and selfish.
May our only desire be for Him!
For His glory!
For the magnifying of His Name!
May our one refrain be, to be often in Your hand, “useful to the Master”.
