Authority to Name:

Authority within the church mirrors the authority as it is described in the bible. As it pertains to men leading God has given men authority to rule. Understand God calling you to rule does not dictatorship it means responsibility, stability, comfort, and empathy. It means leading your family to live lives pleasing to God meanwhile taking care of their needs in a manner that exemplifies Christ.
in conjunction with says One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity.
Ruleth or manage meaning influence others as to cause them to follow a recommended course of action - to guide, to direct.
As it pertains to , the bible states that “out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name”.
Authority that man has comes from God. Nonetheless man can only name things brought to him by God. God trusted Adam that what he named them that was the name.

Using Your Authority Properly

Understand positive responses to your leadership depend on three things. As Tony Evans, in Kingdom Man describes it as Boyhood, Malehood, and Manhood.
You cannot expect to have or use any authority properly if you never grow up:
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
Not to mention attached to Boyhood is Malehood, in which some men are only men based on their sexual organs.
Last but not least we have Manhood, the ability to rule and use your authority the way God intended. Think of you job typically before you were hired there is a job description that you must agree to regardless of what the title of the job is, its the job description that matters the most.
Sometimes we do not use our authority properly because Satan has caused us to refrain from thinking like royalty. If God our everlasting King gave us authority to rule by his rules, in His image and in His name we have to know he has a plan of royalty for someone made in the image of the King.

Take Up Your Authority

The first thing is understanding God has a specific plan. Authority begins with understanding and examining passions, abilities and personality meanwhile being realistic based on your experience.
Many times we do not take up the authority God has given us because we do not know where it is. Have you ever lost something at home and its important to you but not important enough to purchase it again. Our authority sometimes dwindles the same way because we do not consistently reflect on what God has called us to do or have assessments of where we currently are according to his calling.
Your authority, your ability to rule is not only about defending it but expanding.
Our authority is and has to be God authorized. It is similar to my father when he worked for President Bush he could only work for President Bush based on the authority of the Federal Government. As long as they provided him with security clearances he had the authority to rule within the confines of his job description.
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
We only have the ability or authorization if God grants it to us.
If God did not bring it you, you do not have the ability to name it. Many times we believe we have power that God never intended us to have.
The Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and “brought” her to the man.
Once the woman was brought to Adam by God, the authority followed.
Verse 23 states The man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.
God brought the beast of the field to Adam and he named them. Understand that a name is a revelation and an expectation. When God brings something to you he expects you to claim it as well. No excuses but taking ownership of cultivating and taking care of what God has brought you.
Understand Adam could not name Eve until he fulfilled his calling of naming the animals. There is no way we can expect to have rule or responsibility over a family unless we fulfill the duty of being aligned with God on our own.
Boys cannot fulfill the duty of Manhood and taking care of a family because they are dependent on being taken care of by someone else.

Giving the Wrong Name

We when do not abide by the directions God has given us our authority takes a hit. When we refuse to do as God has asked us or use our rule in the wrong way God has a way of shutting us up until we figure out that our control is only given to us by Him.
And behold, you shall be silent and unable to speak until the day when these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.
Our authority as men is taken when we misuse or misname what God has brought to us.

Claim It

Claiming it means claiming the fact that God will expand and bring it to fruition. Many times we miss the blessing because naming it is not enough, just because you name it does not mean you have control over it. God still has control he just trust you enough to analyze and be responsible for it.
For instance, I’ve had the pleasure of naming my sons nonetheless God is still in control of their lives. It does not mean I do not care for them or help them be disciples. It means I manage with care and help them stay in line with the will of God.
Often times we have a hard time claiming what God has brought us to name because we have a skewed view of success.
We cannot claim something that does not align to the name it was given. The children of Israel could never claim the promise land until they lived up to the name given to them by God.
“No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.
6 “Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
7 “Only be strong and very courageous; abe careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 update. (1995). (). La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation.
We cannot claim to be leaders of the church, named and claimed by Jesus if we do not take care of what we have named our wife and our children.
For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God
Jesus had the ability to name the church because he was willing to claim the duty before him. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Jesus named the church, but was willing to claim it with his life. Men, God aligns our willingness to name our wife on the ability to claim our family by loving our wife as Christ loves the church.
You’ve got to CLAIM it! Even the land we have across the street God has allowed us to name it. It belongs to us, and when we are willing to march in step with his will he will allow us to claim it!
