Habakkuk’s Complaint
-4
Does this sound like anything we would say today?
This is NOT a prayer, this is a complaint!
What is amazing about the prophet’s complaint is that it is true!
Judah was morally and spiritually bankrupt.
Judah was worshipping Baal.
Judah was sacrificing their children to Molech.
Finally, Judah allowed the temple of God to fall in disrepair.
Therefore, God was NOT pleased!
Habakkuk 1:
What is amazing about this is not only is the prophet’s complaint accurate, God is going to use Judah’s enemies to chastise them for their rebellion!
Habakkuk 1:12-
Habakkuk tries to intercede for the rebellious nation and prepares his defense against God.
Habakkuk 2:2
God’s judgement will come but so will his grace!
Habakkuk 3:16-19
