Disciplines of Pray and Fasting.
February 1st see the start to our 21days of prayer and fasting.
Today we have given out our 21 days of prayer and fasting booklets to help.
NIV
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.
The discipline of both prayer and fasting is and should be important to the believer.
It is more than something that is done every now and again, but comes out of a personal relationship with our God.
It is most effective when it comes from a lifestyle that is cared for and cultivated.
Jesus’ relationship with the Father during His life on earth gives us a great example to learn from and follow.
Have a Certain Time
Jesus got up early in the morning to spend time with His Father.
Make a daily appointment with God — whether it’s first thing in the morning, at lunch, or in the evening — and faithfully keep it.
Have A Certain Place
Jesus had a specific place He went to pray.
Having a designated place to pray helps us remove distractions and frees us to worship and pray out loud.
Have A Certain Plan
When Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, He gave them a prayer outline.
We call it “The Lord’s Prayer.”
