Psalm 75:6–7 NKJV
For exaltation comes neither from the east Nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another.
Review from last week’s lesson
How would you explain the differences between self-centered and God-centered ambition in your life?
What are some areas of honorable/holy ambition in your life?

1. Real leaders are in short supply.

Throughout the Bible, God searches for leaders.
1 Samuel 13:14 NKJV
But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”
Jeremiah 5:1 NKJV
“Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; See now and know; And seek in her open places If you can find a man, If there is anyone who executes judgment, Who seeks the truth, And I will pardon her.
Ezekiel 22:30 NKJV
So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.
When God finds a person who is:
Ready to lead
Commit to full discipleship
Take on responsibility for others
That person is used of God to the fullest possible.
Those leaders still have short-comings and flaws but still serve God as spiritual leaders.
Bible - Moses, Gideon, David
Church History - Martin Luther, John Wesley, Adoniram Judson, William Carey, and many others.

2. Qualities of Leaders

Authoritative
Spiritual
Sacrificial
Authoritative
People desire reliable leaders who know where they are going and are confident of getting there.
Spiritual
Without a strong relationship with God, even the most attractive and competent person cannot lead people to God.
Sacrificial
This trait follows the model of Jesus, who gave Himself for the whole world and who calls us to follow in His steps.
