YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN

INTRODUCTION What the New Birth Is Not

It is not being baptized

John 3:5 ESV
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

It is not being a good person

It is not experiences of moments of spiritual ecstasy

What Is the New Birth?

It is the powerful aggression of All of God over a soul implanting New heart which brings an inward change of delight, love, passion and hunger for Jesus – by faith

The New Birth is having an ongoing, life altering love pursuit of Jesus which shows up in an ongoing life altering hatred of the practice of sin.

1 John 3:8 ESV
Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:9 ESV
No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.
Colossians 3:5 ESV
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

I. Only the New Birth Corrects Our Self-Righteous __________

Total Depravity

The total inability of man, because of the sin and corruption that is within us, to desire Jesus, know Jesus, want Jesus or even to come to Jesus because of our choice to live independently from the Lord.
