The Disobedience of the Leper
Mark 1:42-45

This passage, rightly understood would surely throw off the Christian practice of some.
The scripture tells us to rightly divide the word of truth, and this scripture is proof that if we don’t take time to study out God’s Word, even for something that seems so insignificant, we would readily find ourselves practicing heresy before long.
These are the facts:

I.
JESUS STERNLY WARNED THE LEPER UPON HEALING HIM, TO FOLLOW THE MOSAIC LAW.

                        A.
Show himself to the priest.
B.
Offer the proper gift.
II.
JESUS SAID HIMSELF THAT HE CAME NOT TO DESTROY THE LAW.
III.
THE DISOBEDIENCE OF THE LEPER CAUSED HARDSHIP FOR JESUS.

                        A.
He was forced to the countryside because of the crowds.
B.
People were more interested in the miracles than in the message.
IV.
THE DISOBEDIENCE OF THE LEPER DISALLOWED AN ACCEPTANCE AND RECOGNITION OF CLEANSING.
/Without the priestly examination of his skin and  proper quarantine, the leper would never be accepted in the synagogue for public worship, nor be pronounced clean for public acceptance./
