The Message
So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us.
If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet!
Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.
2018 Corporate scripture, FOCUS
So this year as we started and submitted to God petitions that we need in our lives, I started to look into prayer
Why do we pray?
What’s the purpose of prayer?
Why don’t we get our prayers answered?
Then bigger questions developed...
“If God is sovereign, then why should we pray?”
“If God is God and isn’t influenced by man, then why ask if He will do what pleases Him, anyways?”
If prayer works, then why are prayer meetings the smallest service the church has?
So these questions forced me, to look at the issue… Is prayer even working?
Are we praying correctly?
I started to look for the source, original purpose and what principles are used to understand prayer.
So it took me to where we were last week, the beginning of prayer and where it originated
To understand prayer you first need to understand, Why it was created...
Prayer was created because of 2 words, “Let them” have dominion not let us but let them have dominion, who?
Man (mankind)
Humans - humus means dirt and man which means spirit, spirit with a dirt body have the dominion to operate on earth and have the authority
So we looked deeper into the purpose of man, and why God created man...
3 principles that you and I must understand before we can understand prayer
God is as sovereign as His word.
(When God speaks it becomes law)
God is limited by His word.
(God must do what He says)
God will never violate His word.
(God is faithful to His word even if it means the fall of mankind )
So through all of this prayer was created, what is prayer?
Prayer is earthly license for heavenly interference
In the bible you will always see that God only moved with the cooperation of man
Abraham and Sodom and Gomorrah
Noah and the destruction and deliverance of mankind
Moses and the exit of God’s people from Egypt
Esther and the deliverance of the Jews
Man’s purpose is to be an ambassador of Christ ()
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ,
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ,
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ,
We are here to represent Christ, the son on earth and what God’s original plans were.
God’s original plan was for us to have dominion and to rule and reign on earth with Him.
The purpose is NOT for me and you to go to heaven.
We believe that we need to get pass thru this earth to go to heaven but why would god want us back from where we came from?
You and I were sent from heaven to earth
Let me help you...
Where does the bible start?
On earth in the garden of Eden… where God dwelled with Adam and Eve
Where does the Bible end?
Rev 21
21 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away
21 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away
New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people.
God Himself will be with them and be their God
It all comes back to God’s original plan… Not for us to go to heaven but for us to dwell with God and anywhere God is that place is heaven even if it is on earth.
Jesus taught us to pray by saying “Let your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven”
So this is God’s plan and purpose...
Now let’s look at this in regards to prayer
4 Principles of Prayer
God’s purpose is more important than any of our plans.
21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
2. God has placed His word above Himself.
I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
And praise Your name
For Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
3.God will never violate or break His word.
For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
4. God’s holiness is the foundation of His integrity and faithfulness.
God’s dedication and consecration is what He stands on.
Keep these laws of prayer in mind when you pray
he is faithful in all he does.
When used correctly prayer is the most powerful authority you have.
God has the power but we carry the authority.
Here are 7 primary laws to understand from “Let them “
The legal authority to dominate earth was given to mankind only
God did not include Himself in the legal authority structure over the earth
Man became the legal steward of the earth domain.
Man is a spirit with a physical body, therefore only spirits with physical bodies can legally function in the earth realm
Any spirit without a body is illegal here on earth
Any influence or interference from the supernatural realm on earth is only legal through mankind
God himself, made himself subject to this law as well
This is why Jesus said,
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, e and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Keys lock and unlock things
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, e and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Prayer is a key that will unlock kingdom authority, not what we want and desire, prayer isn’t a direct line to God to get what we want or desire.
We will need to learn how to pray
We will need to learn when to pray
We will need to learn what to pray
