20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. 9 “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.” 10 I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion will pay the penalty, whoever he may be. 11 Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. 12 As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!
13 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. 14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

INTRODUCTION
We are still in January so it may not be too late for me to say Happy New Year. One thing that comes to mind in the New Year is New Year Resolution.

How about you? Do you make New Year resolution? I don’t mean just you; but you as a Christian. Shouldn’t you also be thinking about how to better your spiritual being and the spiritual beings of others?
If you don’t, what do you think of those who do? you may even be laughing at those people who make and fail to make them. But at least they do care to think about improvements they need to better themselves or for others.

Based on my past experience and similar to many who make New Year Resolutions, I had my fair share of failures - like finish reading the Bible once in a year; doing daily devotion etc …
Why do so many people fail to make their resolutions? What’s the best way to stick to your New Year’s resolutions? One secret is that New Year’s resolutions don’t need to be daunting, you just need to be proactive about it. For example, while we might not think there is enough time in our days to achieve our goals, just 20 minutes per day working towards your resolution can make all the difference.
There is another way to achieving your goals and it is based on God’s promise.
You may have heard of this young man called Solomon. Not long after he became king, he went to a place

13 所羅門王從以色列人中挑取服苦的人共有三萬。14 派他們輪流，每月一萬人上黎巴嫩去；一個月在黎巴嫩，兩個月在家裡，亞多尼蘭掌管他們。15 所羅門用七萬扛抬的，八萬在山上鑿石頭的。
Solomon did rule Israel with great wisdom. What is wisdom? There is an illustration - Solomon’s judgment.
16 一日，有兩個妓女來，站在王面前。17 一個說：“我主啊，我和這婦人同住一房，她在房中的時候，我生了一個男孩。18 我生孩子後第三日，這婦人也生了孩子。我們是同住的，除了我們二人之外，房中再沒有別人。19 夜間，這婦人睡著的時候，壓死了她的孩子。20 她半夜起來，趁我睡著，從我旁邊把我的孩子抱去，放在她懷裡，將她的死孩子放在我懷裡。21 天要亮的時候，我起來要給我的孩子吃奶，不料，孩子死了。及至天亮，我細細地察看，不是我所生的孩子。”22 那婦人說：“不然，活孩子是我的，死孩子是你的。”這婦人說：“不然，死孩子是你的，活孩子是我的。”她們在王面前如此爭論。23 王說：“這婦人說：‘活孩子是我的，死孩子是你的。’那婦人說：‘不然，死孩子是你的，活孩子是我的。’ ”24 就吩咐說：“拿刀來！”人就拿刀來。25 王說：“將活孩子劈成兩半，一半給那婦人，一半給這婦人。”26 活孩子的母親為自己的孩子心裡急痛，就說：“求我主將活孩子給那婦人吧！萬不可殺他。”那婦人說：“這孩子也不歸我，也不歸你，把他劈了吧！”27 王說：“將活孩子給這婦人，萬不可殺他，這婦人實在是他的母親。”28 以色列眾人聽見王這樣判斷，就都敬畏他，因為見他心裡有神的智慧，能以斷案。
There are two facts we can learn about Solomon’s wisdom - first, Solomon’s wisdom is not only in his head but comes from his heart and second, wisdom leads him to action and in this case enabling him to to make the right decision.
I don’t know what resolution is any you will make for yourself.
