Jesus Is Lord

Acts 2:36

Acts 2:36 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

I.            ALTHOUGH THE GOSPEL MESSAGE IS SIMPLE, IT HAS BEEN MISREPRESENTED.

A. Faith extends beyond the simplicity of belief, it also conveys trust and committal.

John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 2:24 24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,

            B. Faith that does not incorporate responsibility is not faith at all.

James 2:17 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Mark 1:4  John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Luke 24:46-47 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

II.            LORDSHIP REPRESENTS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REAL FAITH AND AN EMPTY FAITH.

            A. The gospel message brings about a transformation. (2 Cor.5:17-20)

Reconcile means properly a change of status. Also, used for the exchange of currency.

            B. A transformation brings new desires.

Conclusion: If one claims to be Christian, he must also act Christian, otherwise he is a fake.
