Marshmallow Test
How many of you belong to a family of some kind?
How many of you have at least one person you would call a friend?
How many of you would say that what you do influences the people around you?
Then this message from is for you.
You have a choice today to follow God and lead those around you to follow him too, or you have the choice to follow your own
Leaders know where they are going. They can visualize the finish line. They know that no matter what they face, the finish line is all that matters.
Leaders make sacrifices in order to get there. It will cost them something.

Leaders make sacrifices in order to get there

Leaders’ strength flows from their faith in God’s Promises

Believing will always put you at risk.
Ever had a friend turn on you? Or someone let you down? It hurts so deeply at times its enough to cause you to stop trusting people all together.
What are you going to have to give up?
sports
friends
career path
WILL give up
Love of money
immorality
drunkenness
Living with the vices and sin of this world.
Don’t waste your life chasing after the stuff, the phones, the newest gaming systems, the most popularity at school,
Don’t waste your life chasing the most successful career at the cost of your church and family…and your relationship with God.
You think you’re chasing life. Living life to the fullest. But if you’re not seeking God, and his kingdom, you’re chasing death. And when you fill your life up with stuff, you’ll wake up the moment after you die having achieved the thing you chased in life: separation from God.
To be with God for eternity, You have to seek him now. Believing he will reward you for it.
If you seek the pleasures of this world, the sex, and drugs, and money, and parties, and popularity, and success, you’ll find only death at the end.

Leaders’ strength flows from their faith in God’s Promises

God sustained them through his faithfulness. He
HOW was Noah able to stand up to the mocking and scorning to build a boat when no one had ever needed one before?
How could Abraham able to leave his family and homeland to live as a visitor his entire life? To wait for a promised son until he was so old?
How could Moses refuse to indulge in the pleasures of Egypt, but rather offer his back to the whips of slavery?
The answer is the same: their faith in God’s promise. The believed God was wise enough to promise the right thing, powerful enough to do what he said he will do, and faithful enough to follow through no matter what.
That’s how God leads us. He sets before us a promise, and says, seek this will all your heart. Run after this like you’ve never run before.
You’ve got to see it, you’re going to have to make sacrifices to get there, but my power will sustain your faith to bring you through.
