Jn 4:43-54. Tony van Drimmelen. When is faith, saving faith? One father found out when tragedy struck his family and his son nearly died. He did have enough faith to go to Jesus and beg for the life of his son. Jesus responded by growing this man’s faith and healing the boy. What this father came to realize is that believing is seeing Jesus not just for what he could do for him, but for who He really is. His faith turned into saving faith when he trusted Jesus enough, to simply do what Jesus asked of him: to leave and go home. As difficult as that was, his faith grew. Afterwards he told his family and friends and they believed. Whatever pain or suffering we have, God wants us to come to Him and grow our faith in Him.
