When people first hear the Gospel, they respond in different ways. Some respond in immediate acceptance, while others respond with skepticism. Are we willing to embrace the skeptics questions? Do we even know the answers? In John 1, we find the account of two men named Philip and Nathanael, and their individual responses to the meeting Jesus.

Ø In 2003, archeological dig found that the Roman garrison for the province of Galilee was based in Nazareth at that time. ii) (SLIDE 12) Another Valid Reason Why: Ø Micah 5:2: "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days." 6. (SLIDE 13) JESUS FINDS NATHANAEL a) Jesus Calls Nathanael To Himself i) "How do you know me?" (He saw him before Philip ever found him.) b) Nathanael Responds Prophetically: "Rabbi, you are the Son of God!" APPLICATION: 7. (SLIDE 14) REACHING SKEPTICS a) Do we have the answers? Ø Plug "Problem of God" by Mark Clark. b) How much do our friends mean to us? Ø Are we willing to leave the safety and security of our Christian communities to reach those who don't know Him? o Philip left Jesus to find his friend! c) What about friends with other theistic beliefs of God but not Jesus? d) Is believing in God enough? o Do we believe Jesus is God?
