Solomon prays for the temple

2 Chronicles 6:40 NKJV
Now, my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and let Your ears be attentive to the prayer made in this place.
2 Chronicles 6:

God filled the house that Solomon built with His presence, but that was not enough.

God came to answer Solomon’s prayer request.

2 Chronicles 7:12 NKJV
Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
2 Chronicles 7:
2 Chronicles 7:12–13 NKJV
Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people,
2 Chronicles 7:12-13
God heard Solomon’s prayer, but there is a difference between hearing and listening to Solomon’s prayer.
God allows things to happen to Israel so they know that God is not listening to their prayers.
The heaven does not produce rain
God send devastation
There is pestilence among God’s people.
God is hearing but not listening!

There is a way that God listens instead of just hearing.

2 Chronicles 7:14
2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
But if you want God to listen then we need to:
2 Chronicles 7:14
Humble ourselves.
The second attribute we need to do is:
Pray
The third attribute we need to do is:
Seek His face.
The fourth attribute we need to do is:
Turn from our wicked ways.

God promises to:

Listen to us
Forgive our sins
heal our land
