So insignificant they are left unnamed, yet so significant God personally chose them to receive the message from the angels and the blessing of being the first witnesses of the birth of the messiah.
Who celebrated and experienced the coming of the savior of the world?
Shepherds were on fringe of society but Gods peace drew them in to experience God then to share that peace.

They were nobodies, we don’t even have their names!
But the beauty is even in their anonymity they were incredibly special and important.
The creator of the universe chose them to be the first recipients of the message of the messiahs arrival, and first spectators of His personal presence here on earth.

God loved you so much He humbled himself to the point of becoming a baby, living as one of us among us in our mess and allowing his very creation to take His life in order to pay the debt for our mistakes.
The world isn’t messed up because God doesn’t exist or because He’s incompetent, or unloving, it’s messed up because we made rejected intimacy with our Father.
And yet He still pursued us, and values us as a treasure worth the immeasurable cost of His life in order to adopt us back into His family.
How do we build a rebellion from this?
What we have, who we are seems so insignificant, yet God often uses the seemingly insignificant.
He doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
