PREPARING FOR SUCCESS
OFTEN IN THIS WORLD WE WILL SEE THIS STATEMENT AND IT WOULD GO ALONG WITH SOME LONG LECTURE ABOUT THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING.
WE ARE NOT LOOKING AT A DEBATE LIKE THIS THIS MORNING BUT ARE GOING TO LOOK AT THE LIFES OFTWO MEN WHO THOUGHT THEY WERE SUCSESSFUL BUT JESUS TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS GOING ABOUT IT THE WRONG WAY.
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

BERORE WE START TO MOVE TO SUCSES WE NEED TO KNOW WHERE WERE GOING
iDA REMINDS ME OF THE FIRST MESSAGE I PREACHED HERE AND IT WAS WHERE ARE YOU GOING
TOMORROW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE MAKING NEW YEARS PROMISES BUT BEFORE JANUARY IS OUT THEY WILL HAVE BROKEN THEM.
WE ARE NOT ABOUT TO MAKE NEW YEAR PROMISES HERE TODAY
FOR US TO SUCSEED WE NEED TO HAVE A PLAN
MANY PEOPLE HAVE PLANS FOR THEIR LIFE BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY ROOM FOR GOD
MANY SEEK THEIR FORTUNE AND FAME BUT LEAVE NO PLACE FOR A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
IN OR SECOND READING WE SEE A YOUNG MAN WHO WANTED TO OBTAIN ETERNAL LIFE
ETERNAL LIFE IS AS WE KNOW A FREE GIFT FROM GOD
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
ETERNAL LIFE IS SOMETHING TO PREPARE FOR BUT HOW?
IN OUR SECOND READING JESUS ASKED THE YOUNG MAN IF HE HAD DONE
but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself
THE YOUNG NAM SAID I HAVE DONE THIS FROM MY YOUTH.
BUT JESUS WHO WE KNOW WAS FULL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT SPOKE THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE THROUGH A WORD OF WISDOM AND SAID GO SELL ALL THAT YOU HAVE AND GIVE TO THE POOR.
THIS WAS THE STATEMENT THAT THE YOUNG MAN DIDDNT WANT TO HEAR FOR HE WAS VERY RICH.
MONEY ISNT AN ITEM THAT WILL KEEP YOU OUT OF HAVING ETERNAL LIFE
BUT THE LOVE OF IT IS
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
EXPLAIN THIS VERSE.
WE DONT NEED TO BE KEPT OUT OF ETERNAL LIFE
JESUS SAID TO NICODEMUS THAT TO HAVE ETERNAL LIFE HE MUST BE BORN AGAIN
TO PREPARE FOR SUCSESS WE MUST MUST COME TO jESUS ONCE WE HAVE RECEIVED JESUS THAT NOT THE END BUT IT IS THE BEGINING.
ONCE A CHILD OF GOD WE COME INTO RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM AND OUR JOURNEY BEGINS.
SOME OF THE THINGS I WANT TO PUSH THIS YEAR IS PRAYER, READING,AND BIBLE STUDY.
THESE ARE THINGS THAT ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL BUT ALSO FOR THE CHURCH
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
WE AS A CHURCH WE MUST PREPARE FOR SUCCESS FOR TWO YEARS WE HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR THE ROADS ARROUND THE CHURCH AND WE ARE STARTING TO SEE GOD ANSWERING PRAYER.
ARE WE READY FOR THE THINGS THAT GOD IS GOING TO BRING THROUGH OUR DOORS.
ARE WE READY FOR THE THINGS THAT GOD WILL ASK OF US
IN PREPARING FOR SUCCESS WE NEED TO WAIT UPON HIM AND LISTERN TO HIS VOICE AND DO JUST AS HE ASKS.
ALREADY PEOPLE ARE PREPAREING TO SERVE HIM AND IF WE CANNOT SERVE THEN WE NEED TO SUPPORT IN PRAYER.
SPEAKING WITH PEOPLE OVER THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD THEY ARE READY TO SERVE
GOD IS WAITING TO POUR UPON US A GREAT BLESSING THE QUESTION IS ARE YOU READY TO RECEIVE
IN OUR SECOND READING THE YOUNG MAN WENT AWAY SORRY BECAUSE HE WAS NOT PREPARED TO PAY THE PRICE.
IN OUR FIRST READING WE BELIEVE THAT NICODEMUS WAS PREPARED TO PAY THE PRICE AS HE WAS ONE THAT BOUND THE BODY OF JESUS
And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
