A. What is God’s will for my life?
1. Can we really know what God wants for us?
B. Can we know the definitive answers to this question?

Or dose the bible just vaguely answer?
2. God gives us everything we need to answer this question.
A. All we have to do is turn to His Word.

B. I am not going to answer this question for you though because...
1.
Many preachers have given the answer and the question still remains.
A. This question must be answered by each and every one of us who desire to be followers of God.
2. You must come to the answer yourself if the answer is going to mean anything.
A. All I will say is that the answer is made available by God in His Word.

Your job as Christians is to go and find it.
3. I will not give you the answer but I will guide you to it with this lesson.
A. You can be the thoroughly equipped complete man of God by understanding.
1. Scripture is from God.
2. Scripture is profitable for doctrine.
3. Scripture is for reproof and correction.
4. Scripture is for instruction in righteousness.
BODY:
1. SCRIPTURE IS FROM GOD.
A. This is the first step in understanding what God’s will is for your life.
1.
We must give the proper biblical authority to Scripture in our lives.
2. If Scripture commands then that is what God desires.

B. All Scripture is from God and He speaks to us through it.

If we desire to know God’s will for our lives we must meditate on His Word.
Ps 119.14-

2. SCRIPTURE IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE.
A. This is the second step in understanding what God wills is in your life.
1.
We must yield control to God if we are going to understand His will for us.
1 Pt 5.
2. Often times we overstep our bounds and think I know whats best for us.
B. We are not capable directing our own path.
1.
If we truly desire to know what God wills for us we must understand scripture is profitable for doctrine.
3. SCRIPTURE IS FOR REPROOF AND CORRECTION.
A. This is the third step in understanding what God’s will is in your life.
1.
If we are going to understand God’s will for us we must accept correction from God.
Heb 12.5-9
A. We are going to mess up and the only thing that has the power to correct our error (sin) is the word of God.

B. Without correction from God how can we know what God wills for our lives?

4. SCRIPTURE IS FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS.
A. This is the forth and final step in understanding what God’s will is in your life.

If we are going to understand God’s will for our lives His book must be our instruction manual for life.
A. We must refer to His Word for every question as to how to be pleasing to Him.
B. We must never go beyond His word to know what he wants for us.
CONCLUSION:

If we will follow these four steps...
A. Scripture is from God.
B. Scripture is profitable for doctrine.
C. Scripture is for reproof and correction.
D. Scripture is for instruction in righteousness.
2. We will always know what God wills for our lives.
