The backstory of our response to God is always what He has done for us: We give our gifts to Him in light of what He has given to us and how we value those gifts.

Micah 6:1–5 ESV
1 Hear what the Lord says: Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice. 2 Hear, you mountains, the indictment of the Lord, and you enduring foundations of the earth, for the Lord has an indictment against his people, and he will contend with Israel. 3 “O my people, what have I done to you? How have I wearied you? Answer me! 4 For I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. 5 O my people, remember what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him, and what happened from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of the Lord.”

When I was a kid we did not have a fancy name for reusing an unused gift Now we do. Re-gifting.
• God is the ultimate regifter. When we Do Justice. When we Love Kindness. When we walk humbly with Him. When we make these our gifts to God He regifts them within our church, our city and our personal lives.

God is the ultimate regifter.

These gifts that God requires create community among His faithful people.
When we Do Justice. When we Love Kindness. When we walk humbly with Him. When we make these our gifts to God our perfect presents of faithful obedience He re-gifts them within our church, our city and our personal lives. These gifts that God requires create community among His faithful people and bring change to those who struggle with sin in our fallen world.
What will you give Him? You could respond with spiritual duck-tape, or someone else's cheap, knock-off devotion. Or you could make this the Christmas you give God what He really wants.
