Tonight, we gather together not just out of tradition… Not just out of religious duty… But out of love and honor for our God. To give thanks to God for seeing our desperate need and sending His beloved Son to save us. We gather tonight to celebrate our Savior and King,
Isaiah 9
Isaiah 9:6–7 KJV 1900
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, Upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, To order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice From henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Matthew 1:21 KJV 1900
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Praise God!! He saved us from our sins
JOY TO THE WORLD
Luk
Luke 2:13–15 KJV 1900
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, Good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Beth-lehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
We gather to with the angels to say Glory to God in the highest
We don’t just gather with family and loved ones because it’s a holiday, but because we understand the amazing gift,
we have been given, not earned
undeserved but never having to be repaid
John 3:16 KJV 1900
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The free gift of God is eternal life.
Jesus is our beautiful gift.
John 8:12 KJV 1900
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Tonight we don’t just light candles, we light them in remembrance of THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
Shines bright in us
Gave it all
freely given to us and available to them
As we continue to worship,
let’s ponder these things.
hide them in our hearts
commit to worship the King
show peace and goodwill to our fellow man everyday.
