Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor
Counselor - Advisor, instructor, guide, teacher.
the instruction of Jesus saves us from so many pitfalls and pain.
Jesus give us all these things, his teachings give us safety, they give us victory, they supply us with the wisdom to wage spiritual ware and live victorious lives by the Holy Spirit’s power.
Just think about all that Jesus has taught us about life and christians living:
1: Jesus taught us about love.
Jesus taught us that love wins against anger.
That Love is not weak, but powerful.
That love covers a multitude of sins.
Jesus taught that not only must we love our friends and family but we must also love our enemies and pray for those who hate us.
2: Jesus taught about Forgiveness:
Jesus taught that we must always be ready to forgive.
That forgiveness flows out a heart that itself has been forgiven by God.
How forgiveness sets us free from the constricting pain of bitterness unforgiveness.
3: Jesus taught us about right Judgment:
His teaching warn us about hypocrisy and self righteousness.
About looking down on others.
he taught that the important of a holy life so that we can help those who are sinning, having compassion on them for we know their struggle.
4: Jesus taught about Wealth and Poverty
Jesus taught us that money is the goal of life.
That how much money you have does not determine your life’s value.
That you can be rich in the world but poor towards God and poor in the world but rich in the things of glory.
So many more: Prayer, Hypocrisy, God, Heaven, Hell....
Jesus is our Mighty God
A mighty God is able to supply might strength.
Jesus is the father of eternity
This does not suggest that Jesus is the father.
This passage describes the Son not the Father and the father and son are distinct in the God Head.
Father of eternity is a more literal translation.
you must remember that Isaiah is a jewish book and in Jewish tradition Father means “originator” or “source”.
For example:
Satan is the source of all lies.
Likewise Jesus is the source of all things eternal or everlasting.
Jesus and Jesus alone can give us everlasting life because he is the source of everlasting.
We cannot enjoy everlasting life with the Father without acquiring it through the son.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace
There are two peaces that Jesus gives and when these two peaces are together the person is whole.
The problem is most people seek the one and not the other.
Let me explain:
The first type and most important peace that Jesus gives us is Peace with God.
Jesus Christ has reconciled sinful with Holy God.
By His sacrificial death on the cross Jesus satisfied the wrath of the Father and paid our spirit debt allowing us to have peace with God.
This peace that we have with God manifests in so many wonderful way, one of which is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
And the Holy Sprit produces in us the Fruit of the Spirit.
Notice the fruit of peace.
This is what is referred to as the Peace OF God.
Notice: Peace WITH God leads to the Peace OF God.
Peace with God is the condition in which the Peace of God will grow.
Peace comes from Jesus, but it remains by obedience.
Anytime our relationship to God suffered, peace suffers.
When we move out of God plan through sin and disobedience we switch off the environmental conditions for peace to grow.
Sin
Sin, rebellion, neglect all play a part in hindering peace.
We must not pursue peace - we must pursue Jesus and peace will find us.
How to pursue Jesus?
