Get Your House in Order

Your house-(your body- your temple- your shell that God has blessed you with)

o Present yourself approved of God/ a worker…. Rightly dividing the word of truth
o Scripture is the path to the truth-Not Dr. Phil’s, Not the latest self-help periodicals, and certainly- not a late a tweet form the president. BUT THE WORD
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 ESV
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
o - all scripture is God breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the SERVENT of GOD (you and me) is thoroughly equipped for every good work

300 Quotations for Preachers We Are Not Our Own; We Are God’s

We are not our own; therefore, neither our reason nor our will should predominate in our deliberations and actions. We are not our own; therefore let us not propose it as our end, to seek what may be expedient for us according to the flesh. We are not our own; therefore let us, as far as possible, forget ourselves and all things that are ours. On the contrary, we are God’s; to him therefore let us live and die. We are God’s; therefore let his wisdom and will preside in all our actions. We are God’s; towards him therefore, as our only legitimate end, let every part of our lives be directed.

JOHN CALVIN

Present yourself approved of God/ a worker…. Rightly dividing the word of truth
2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The scripture goes even deeper in to say :
2 Timothy 2:16–17 ESV
But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,
Scripture is the path to the truth-Not Dr. Phil’s, Not the latest self-help periodicals, and certainly- not a late a tweet form the president. BUT THE WORD
and unfortunately what some unprofessional police officers call our younger brother and sisters in baggy pants and jeans is guilty until proven innocent, uneducated, worthy of unlawful stop & frisk, unlawful search and seizure and worthy of shooting w/o an probable cause because they themselves will most likely WILL NOT be held accountable- but that’s a sermon for another day!
- all scripture is God breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the SERVANT of GOD (you and me) is thoroughly equipped for every good work
o Phil 6:10-20 says our enemy is not flesh and blood but………….. The word says arm yourself w/the breast plate of righteousness

Dress Appropriately for the Occasion

What I called GQ’d is a suit and tie, what some of our young people call GQ’d is baggy pants and Jeans
and unfortunately what some unprofessional police officers call our younger brother sisters wearing baggy pants and jeans is guilty until proven innocent, uneducated, worthy of unlawful stop & frisk, unlawful search and seizure and worthy of shooting w/o any probable cause because they themselves will most likely WILL NOT be held accountable- but that’s a sermon for another day!

The GQ dressing I’m talking about has nothing to do with your choice of ties or how low your pants are hanging- it has to do with dressing yourself with the Genuine Quality of PUTTING ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD so you are genuinely qualified and equipped for battle!
speaks of arming oneself appropriately for battle. says:
Ephesians 6:10–11 ESV
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
further states:
Ephesians 6:12–13 ESV
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
And says:

You Love One Another

Cut this short in the interest of time and because the principle is really simple
We look toward the word as written in and
says… and in closing says:
1 John 4:7–9 ESV
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
says… and in closing says Beloved-let us……
1 John 4:7–10 ESV
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:7–9 NKJV
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
