Intro: God sent His love at Christmas. At least we celebrate Christmas because God sent His love.

Ill. When we cannot be with everyone we want to be with at at the times we want to be with them, we will sometimes say, we send our love. It has been an expression through many years. Well, God sent His love through His Son. He loved us enough to send His very best.

Love is faithful and benevolent self-giving to a person. In the Bible, love is the central attribute of God, the primary fruit of the followers of God, and the defining characteristic of the kingdom of God announced in Jesus.

The word “love” in its various verb forms appears over 400 times in most English Bibles

R. P. Nettelhorst, “Love,” ed. Douglas Mangum et al., Lexham Theological Wordbook, Lexham Bible Reference Series (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2014).
