Huddle Up
32 Sam Dog, 32 Sam Dog…Travis Grieder our middle linebacker would say in our defensive huddle as our coach gave the signal from the sideline. I knew the signals, but I have bad eyesight and could not see all the way to the sideline clear enough to see the play so I had to depend on the huddle to make sure I was in the right spot on defense.
On offense they huddled as well. The wide receiver would bring in the play to the Quarterback, strong right 34 belly on 3, he would often repeat it to ensure that everyone got it and typically end the huddle with “ready break”. In this huddle you look the guy next to you in the eye, sometimes giving a little encouragement because we are tired, we have probably made a few mistakes and our collective goal is winning the game.
Over the past decade in effort to speed up offenses many teams have taken a no huddle approach, and in church we have often taken that approach as well we have lost sense of coming together before we put into play what we have practiced. We are not huddling anymore as families, communities and churches.

It’s on thing to listen to Christ in the huddle. Are you really listening? In an offensive huddle the Quarterback would always give the snap count, this signifies when the ball would be hiked by the center to the QB. Many times false starts happen because we were tired and didn’t listen to the snap count.
How many times do we get started before we are supposed to because we aren’t really listening to Jesus?
Listening to Jesus entails prayer and studying.
This is the confidence we have before Him that, if we ask anything according to His will, He Hears us.
My son, if you receive my words
and treasure up my commandments with you,
2 making your ear attentive to wisdom
and inclining your heart to understanding;
3 yes, if you call out for insight
and raise your voice for understanding,
4 if you seek it like silver
and search for it as for hidden treasures,
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
Not listening ind the huddle can lead to a blown assignment. Saul (Supposed to destroy everything, when you do not listen you begin to assume)

Huddle with Your Faith
Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.
Huddling with your faith is similar to watching film.
You watch film for 3 reasons
To give good examples of what to do on the football field. Studying scripture gives good examples of what to do moving forward.Gives examples of what not to do and opportunity for correction. You get to see your mistakes. You get to see your mistakes in front of your teammates.Preparation for the next team. You get game film of the next team to see what the tendencies of the oppositions. We have plenty of film on Satan. His game against Job, his season opener against Adam, his playoff game against Jesús in the wilderness.

No huddle began at the expense of scoring and needing to score quickly. Because of its success in 2 minute drill, many coaches have adapted it as a full time method of offense...
Nonetheless if you look at the teams in college and the NFL they have garnered success over the years they still huddle.
Ministry can become fast paced, utilized as a tool on social media nonetheless nothing beats coming together as brothers and sisters. So much so it is a commandment.
A True Huddle has a short memory. We have a limited time to get the play in, therefore we do not have time to argue in the huddle. The huddle is for instruction and encouragement.
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
A true huddle gives me an opportunity to look at the person on my left, and look at the person on my right in the eyes and tell them I got your back. Tell them it’s going to be okay, we’ll get them this time
