Holiness is a big deal to God. How often do we hear people say that they’ll follow Jesus—“but just not yet.” The old, wise Teacher begins to wrap up the book of Ecclesiastes with a sober reminder and a charge. We don’t know what tomorrow holds or when the inevitability of death will become our experience. So, do not put off holiness and the true joys of life until they’re too late; until life has passed and we find ourselves in eternity. Instead, pursue godliness, integrity, and wisdom—now!
