Ps 72. Tony van Drimmelen. Christmas is all about King Jesus. On a scale we cannot even begin to imagine, Solomon prays for his own kingship in a way that goes beyond anything he is ever capable of doing. We see a King endowed with righteousness. This King is able to establish an eternal Kingdom which covers all the earth. He has compassion and blesses all those under His reign. Such qualities elude even the best worldly rulers and powers that have come and gone. Only King Jesus is qualified to reign and to rule like this. So, with the psalmist we praise God for Jesus the King (vv.18-19). Let’s prepare our hearts; get ready for the King.
