What’s your least favourite fruit? If you had to make a fruit salad, what fruit would you put in it? WORSHIP “Apart from me” (or separated from me) you can do nothing … John 15 talks about “abiding” or “remaining” in his love. Before fruitfulness comes abiding. Perhaps with some worship music in the background … ask God to reveal his affirming love to you again. Ask him to reveal to you how you can abide more deeply in his mercy, love and grace. WORD Read John 15:1-8 Which of the three phases describes where you’re at in your walk with God right now (on the whole)? Maybe spend a few minutes on each before moving on. Removing dead branches – God’s dealing with things that don’t belong. Time and energy are being wasted on branches that will never bear Kingdom fruit. Are you willing to let God begin a new work in these areas? Pruning fruitful branches – God is pruning areas of your life\ministry that have been fruitful in the past, and it’s not quite “flowing” as it once did. Ask God to reveal to you why it isn’t flowing at the moment. Fruitfulness – your work seems to be bearing fruit at the moment. Thank God for this, and ask him to continue to bring forth fruit. Use your answers to these questions to pray for one another. WITNESS Some suggested questions for discussion\prayer: What kind of fruit has God called you to bear for him “out there”? How could you be more effective in that area? Can you think of one obstacle to being more effective in reaching others in your area of fruitfulness?
