1. BURDEN BEARER
Acts 4:36–37 NKJV
And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

Galatians 6:2 NKJV
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Barnabas knew difference between OWNERSHIP AND STEWARDSHIP. He had things. They didn’t have him.
Only what we give stays
We can have anything we want if we help enough people get what they want. People want to bless people who have blessed them.
2. FRIEND FINDER
Acts 9:27 NKJV
But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
TOOK HIM AND BROUGHT HIM
Barnabas went out to find Paul, a lonely disciple
A lot of new Christians out there who need somebody.
PEOPLE POLLINATOR
FRIEND FINDER
3. BRIDGE BUILDER
ACTS 11:
Acts 11:25 NKJV
Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul.
Barnabas went to Paul to connect his gifts to the work. He told him he could do it.
4. DISCIPLEMAKER
Acts 11:26 NKJV
And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
First called Christians in Antioch. Why? Paul

More than backstage passes to Jesus’ sermon or having a tax collector on your side for a change.
It is seeing others grow into something they wouldn’t be without you.
5. BELIEVING THE BEST
Acts 15:36–37 NKJV
Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us now go back and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing.” Now Barnabas was determined to take with them John called Mark.
Acts 15:38–40 NKJV
But Paul insisted that they should not take with them the one who had departed from them in Pamphylia, and had not gone with them to the work. Then the contention became so sharp that they parted from one another. And so Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus; but Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended by the brethren to the grace of God.
Acts 15:36 NKJV
Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us now go back and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing.”
John Mark was the source of great contention. Mark was unfaithful but repentive.
2 Timothy 4:11 NKJV
Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry.
Mark is the only man Paul wants while in prison.
