Made for More: Stepping Up
Galatians 5:25
Do you believe most people want to do well in life?
Is there anyone here today that does NOT want to do well in life?
What happens if we have a dream or set goal in life and we reach it?
Often we have the tendency to become dissatisfied, cramped, with where we are leaving us with a desire to spread our wings, a sense that there is more in life.
What did Jesus say about this?
What was Jesus saying here?
His purpose in coming to earth was so that we would have life to the full; the meaning here is life overflowing; or surplus; above and beyond.
Hamburger/steak story
Jesus desires that we experience life to the full.
With this in mind lets consider some “What Ifs”
What if we experience victory over negative habits and sins that tie us down?
What if we were emotionally and spiritually free to serve God in a place of ministry?
Ministry that would touch lives in a way that would change lives?
What if our relationships with our family or others were strong and healthy rather than full of conflict?
What if we learned to pray more and actually saw answers to those prayers?
I believe that God created us to enjoy life; and I believe that as stated in God’s Word Jesus came to earth for us to have life to the fullest.
But so often we settle for status quo or just making it by in life.
However, this is exactly what causes us to experience feelings of misery, dissatisfaction, etc.
Lets revisit ;25
