Rose Colored Glasses
Warning from Jesus
Screaming Chicken
Bloody Vision
Who’s perception will we see through?
Rose Colored Glasses, A screaming Chicken that we allow condemnation to come through, or the bloody vision of Jesus Christ?
To understand why we can’t get stuck in the the 1st two states of mind and perceptions, we need to understand the Satan’s Perception.
When we get stuck in the screaming chicken phase of realization, the devil attempts to keep us there.
Not so we can experience the power of conviction, but that he can turn it into a moment of Condemnation.
If he is successful in stunting your spiritual growth during this phase we all must pass through, he wins your soul.
This phase of our spiritual growth relies heavily upon the ability to face reality, to measure ourselves, and then to get up and make a change!
The crowing rooster was never meant to stop Peter’s ministry, but to serve as a reminder of how far he had fallen in such a short period of time.
It was a wake up call, as most crowing rooters are know for, for Peter to see exactly what he was made of when faced with fear and trials.
This great awakening must happen in the lives of every saint of God, before there can be any more maturity.
The sermons we have been hearing around here the past several weeks, is basically like the screaming chicken that is crowing so it can wake you up!
We must first hear it, and even though self examination always hurts, we answer to our spiritual wake up call.
IT is the blaring alarm beside your bed that sounds relentlessly to wake up.
You are forced to take ACTION to silence the alarm, or it will continue.
Just like Pastor’s sermon today about Abraham receiving a promise from God, in turn he took action and built an altar!
We must be people of ACTION.
Lets look at how the Bible shows us examples of the desperation of Satan and why he fights us so hard at times.
Lets go back to the old testament when the Israelites were in the land of Egypt.
What was Pharaoh’s perception of the children of Israel that caused him to fear them so much that he began putting them to death.
What caused Herod the Great such fear of this promised King of the Jews, that he ordered the Israelites’ babies to be killed?
Both saw a threat to a their worldly kingdoms, or the threat of losing their collections of earthly goods.
Pharoah didn’t fear the already subdued obedient children of Israel when he look across his kingdom.
He feared the perceived threat of the future potential of a great nation rising up in the mist of Egypt.
He saw their potential for greatness long before they were able to dream it for themselves.
Pharaoh, just like the devil, acted on this fear before the nation of Israel could develop and mature into a powerful army.
He preyed upon the already weakened people that were in the infancy stage of becoming their own self sustaining nation.
He kicked them while they were down!
He tried to stifle their dreams, and knock the wind out of them, before a full breath of air could be drawn into their lungs.
Like the devil in revelations, Pharoah knew he had little time, so he acted out of state of desperation.
We can look back over these events and judge the nation of Israel for not seeing their own potential, while we make a conscience decision to not see our own potential.
For many of us here, the rooster has sounded his alarm, and we took a look into the mirror to self examine ourselves, and have gotten stuck staring at the failures, the mistakes, and the slip ups we’ve made.
We take on the same perception as the children of Israel.
They started out a rich promised people and even enjoyed the high life of living in Egypt in the beginning, but somewhere along the way they were lulled to sleep by the devil’s evil lullabies.
The awakening began happening to them in their moment of desperation.
In the face of hopelessness, these promised children of Abraham took a moment for a reality check and couldn’t understand how they let themselves get this far from his promises.
They had to stand by and watch their children being taken by Egypt, before they began to cry unto the Lord.
Out of that cry of desperation we find the making of some of the greatest leaders know to man.
Moses and Joshua.
Moses had to convince these people to began moving away from the condemning state of their stare into the mirror of life and sell them the idea that God has more than this defeated state of reality for them.
He was given the overwhelming chore to make them start seeing through the eyes of God.
TO walk by faith not by flesh.
Even after the miracles and victories they witnessed, they still had a slave mentally that they could shake.
Like we sometimes do, they allowed their poor self image to stunt their maturity, and full potential.
We see it time and time again.
This is the trap the devil continues to use today, because so many potential spiritual giants have failed in life, Satan takes advantage of the fear of failure, our low assessment of our strength, and our poor self images.
We must move beyond the screaming chicken phase once reality hits us.
We must stand up and take responsibility for our actions and know that to grow we have to get up and start taking those steps toward God again.
Joshua was given the tasks of shaping a whole new generation of people to break the slave mentality and know that they are truly conquerors.
It was his and Caleb’s point of views that said they could take the promised land, while the others doubted.
To prove my point of how dangerous slave mentality is and getting stuck at the stage of self examination lets look at what 10 of the spies told the people of Israel on their return
Key words here, “in our own sight” = slave mentality = poor self image = self condemnation.
Then they make a ridiculous assumption and said: “and so we were in their sight”
Surely they didn’t stop and ask these giants their opinions of themselves.
How could they know what the people truly thought of Israel.
We can’t jump to conclusions and assumptions thinking everybody is against us and take on a victim mentality.
It was later discovered by Joshua’s spies that were sent into to Jericho, that these people actually had a great fear of the children of Israel.
Stop making unmerited assumptions about your spiritual potential.
I believe satan likes to give off this image that he is some great giant and we are grasshoppers in his eyes, but if that was true, why does he attempt to destroy us in our spiritual infancies?
Why does he try so hard to stifle a spirit of revival in each one of us here tonight?
Why did he try tear this ordained work of God to its knees a few short years ago?
It was all done through his perception of the potential you and I have to impact this city.
To inspire others around, including our families, our children.
I’ve had enough of the devil taking my children from their home and upbringing just to sacrifice them to this world.
I refuse to think like the devil wants me to think!
If we do this, he keeps our children.
If we allow the slave mentality and a defeated mindset prevail, then we are basically showing the devil that we surrendered to his will.
It’s like the devil comes knocking on our doors saying its time for me to take another child from you protection and us blindly putting that child in his evil hands.
I stay it stops here and it stops tonight.
We don’t have to give up on our lost loves ones.
We don’t have to accept they are lost to this world.
We don’t have to see ourselves as spiritual grasshoppers to the enemy.
Instead, I say we bring the walls of Jericho down around Satan and his minions.
I believe it’s high time to declare spiritual warfare on the evil around us and stand together a people determined to regain all that the devil has slipped in and taken from us!
JESUS CHRIST’S view of us, is really a skewed view.
God want fight your will to make you love him, and he refuses to look upon you without the bloody vision he looked upon Peter with the night Peter denied him.
This bloody vision is the only way Jesus sees us when we fall to our knees and cry out for his mercy.
Once we come to him for the 1st time or many times over again, Jesus only sees us through the bloody vision of the day of his crucifixion.
We covered the Rose Colored Glasses, the Screaming Chicken phase, now we are back full circle to the Bloody Vision.
When I pray lately, I pray that I see people the way Christ sees people.
I desire to see the world from his perspective.
Past the outer appearance and even past the unbelievable desperate actions some take, to the soul of man behind this meat sac.
I realized one day when I was praying that if I truly saw through the eyes of christ, that it would be a bloodied view.
I would no longer see the faults, sins, and hangups people have, the bloody vision only shows the potential hidden in each living soul!
Christ sees the spiritual giant you can be.
The conqueror that you really are supposed to be.
The life of spiritual victory you are meant to have.
He sees only through the bloody vision of calvary.
As I put this message together, I pictured Peter seeing Christ looking at him after the Rooster crowed, and I imagined the bloody mess that he was about to become.
I imagined the blood dripping down to the ground starting with the crown of thorns in his head that would flow over his eyes causing a permanent eternal blood stain that would never be removed and would forever change God’s perspective of mankind.
I need this kind of vision in my spiritual journey tonight.
I must take off the rose colored glasses, hearing screaming chicken, get over my self assessment and began to see the bloody vision of calvary.
How many are tired of defeat?
How many are tired of watching your children being taken by Egypt and sacrificed?
How many are tired of staring at that mirror of self examination?
Who is ready to move to that next dimension of spiritual giantism and great awakening that will put Satan, his minions, and all of hell on notice.
Starting tonight, when you self examine and face that mirror, look with bloody vision and feel the convicting power of the Holy Ghost, not the condemning spirit of the devil and all his accusations.
