The One We Worship Small Group Study Questions: 1. When you think of the term “worship” what immediately comes to mind for you? 2. Read Exodus 20:4-5. Why is God so concerned that only he alone is worshiped by us? 3. Read Isaiah 6:1-5. Why does Isaiah react this way when he sees God? Read verses 6-8. Why is it that in Scripture an awe encounter with God often precedes calling? (Moses in Exodus 3, Ezekiel in Ezekiel 1 &2, Paul in Acts 9) 4. Read John 4: 19-24. Why does Jesus say that the Father is looking for people who worship him “in spirit and in truth”? What do these words mean to you? 5. Read Revelation 1:10-18. How do you feel when you read of John’s vision of Jesus in this passage? 6. How does the truth that God is so awesome in his power and appearance, while at the same time he loves us so deeply, affect your perception of God? 7. Gerald Vann says this: “Worship is not part of the Christian life, it is the Christian life”. In light of these words, how does one live a life of worship? 8. The Christian music artist David Crowder has a song entitled “There is a Sound”. Here is the link to it, with lyrics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBCZcbOqwhU Feel free to listen to the whole song together, or stop it at the 3:14 mark. Read Revelation 4: 1-8. Take a minute to reflect on the majesty of the God we worship in Christ. Then pray as you feel led to end your time together.
