There are things in our lives that are toxic that God has called us to destroy
the reason is that if we do not destroy them that they will destroy us and keep us from worshiping God

if no then something needs to change

someone who has carpentry skills could volunteer to build a shelter for the homeless
someone who is a good teacher could teach others about Jesus
Someone who is wealthy could use their excess for the good of others or the purposes of God

Achan took some of the gold and silver and kept it for himself
this angered God b/c God had said to give it to the treasury
when God speaks for you to do something in your life; you should do it!
But no one knew that Achan had did this and they went about their normal business
Joshua sent men to Ai to defeat another enemy but they did not defeat them
Ai killed 36 of God’s people
Joshua freaks out doubting God and asking Him what is going on

BUT WHEN GOD USES REBUKE FOR OUR GOOD

remove the things that need taken from your life
transform the things that need to be used for the goodness of God
God set things for destruction
we see and want to have things that God wants to destroy
we take things and then our enemy has control over us because we have not been in obedience to the Lord
we not only struggle ourselves but our family will struggle
